Project Overview:

The business requirement was to ideate & develop an event management system to simplify creating, managing & engaging users with daily/weekly events.

The events served as a medium to gather new registration which can be then forwarded to the sales team. The events also helped in increasing brand awareness for the company.

Problem Statement:

  1. Due to an increase in daily events, it became difficult for the marketing and ops team to manage the events.
  2. Due to inefficiencies in automation & communication, event turn-up started declining.
  3. Creating new login pages for every event or reusing the old ones was proving to be a manpower drain for the tech team.

Challenges:

  1. Low tech & design bandwidth: During the ideation & development, we understood the crunch in bandwidth in both teams, we improvised by using simpler designs for the internal tool & only involving the design team for customer-facing pages.
  2. Integration of multiple tools: In the solution discovery phase, we identified the right solution had to be integrated with multiple third-party tools like WATI, SendInblue, Twillio, etc.
  3. Super-tight deadlines: The entire feature had to be delivered within 2 weeks with a team of 1 PM (me), 1 Senior Dev & 2 Dev interns. [Spoiler alert: We delivered within the deadline]
